1. Introduction & Data Controller
PeakClip (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the video clipping and subtitle generation platform available at https://www.peakclip.app. We are committed to transparency and safeguarding the privacy of our creators, editors, and visitors.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal and media data we collect, how we process it, how long we retain it, and the rights you have concerning your information. If you have questions, please reach out to us at support@peakclip.app.
2. Information We Collect
A. Account & Authentication Data
When you sign up or log in, we store your email address, unique account identifier, and session tokens via our authentication provider, Supabase. We do not store plain-text passwords.
B. Video Ingest & Media URLs
When you request a clip or transcribe a VOD, you provide public or authorized stream URLs (e.g., Twitch, Kick, Google Drive, or direct media links) or upload local files. Our system processes only the specific time-sliced audio and video segments necessary to fulfill your extraction job.
C. Transcript & Subtitle Data
Spoken dialogue extracted during transcription is processed into word-level timestamps and exported subtitle sidecars (.ass, .srt). This data is associated with your account library.
D. Billing & Subscription Information
All payment transactions and subscriptions are handled directly by our Merchant of Record, Paddle.com. PeakClip never collects, views, or stores your credit card numbers, CVVs, or full payment credentials. Paddle provides us with customer identifiers, plan status, and order tokens to provision your account features.
E. Usage, Telemetry & Logs
To ensure service reliability and enforce rate limits, we record extraction timestamps, job durations, output resolutions, IP addresses, browser user-agents, and aggregate platform telemetry.
3. Supported Video Sources & Google API Disclosures
PeakClip connects with streaming and file storage platforms solely to extract requested video clips:
- Twitch & Kick: We access public stream VODs and clips via publicly reachable stream protocols to perform remote frame-accurate cuts.
- Google Drive: If you connect Google Drive or supply a Google Drive video link, PeakClip only accesses the specific file requested for clipping and subtitle extraction.
Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance
PeakClip's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. PeakClip does not use Google user data to train, retrain, or improve generalized AI or machine learning models.
4. Ephemeral Processing & Data Retention Policy
We prioritize data minimization. We do not maintain perpetual archives of raw stream recordings:
Raw stream chunks and temporary segment files are processed in ephemeral memory or scratch directories and are deleted immediately after extraction finishes, or purged automatically within 4 hours.
Your generated .mp4 clips, .ass subtitles, and .srt sidecars are stored in secure Cloudflare R2 cloud storage in accordance with plan tier retention allowances (24 hours on Free, 48 hours on Creator, 7 days on Creator Pro, or until manually removed from your library).
5. Authorized Sub-Processors
We work with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating PeakClip under strict confidentiality and data protection obligations:
Merchant of Record, payment processing, tax compliance, invoicing, and subscription renewals.
Secure user authentication, encrypted session credentials, and PostgreSQL database hosting.
Cloudflare R2 media storage, edge caching, DDoS protection, and privacy-first web telemetry.
Speech-to-text audio transcription and AI moment detection. Customer media is not retained to train foundation models.
Transactional email delivery for account verifications, password resets, and critical alerts.
6. AI & Machine Learning Notice
When you activate AI Highlights or auto-transcription, audio segments are passed to our transcription partners strictly to detect speech boundaries, timestamps, and captions.
We do not sell, rent, or lease your content to third parties, and your uploaded or processed videos are never utilized to train public foundation AI models.
7. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)
Depending on your location, you hold statutory rights regarding your personal information:
- Right of Access & Portability: Request a copy of the personal data and library clips we store.
- Right to Rectification: Request corrections to inaccurate account details.
- Right to Erasure (“Right to be Forgotten”): Request the permanent deletion of your account and all associated clips.
- Right to Object or Restrict Processing: Request restrictions on specific data operations.
- Non-Discrimination: We do not discriminate or deny service quality to users exercising statutory privacy rights.

8. Security Safeguards
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security controls to protect your data, including TLS 1.3 encryption in transit, AES-256 encrypted cloud storage buckets, scoped database policies (Row Level Security), automated SSRF protections, and isolated sandbox workers.
